On Saturday, October 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Mu.R.C. Museo Rasocolmo Contemporaneo will open its doors for an open day dedicated to Sicilian contemporary art.
The event is part of the shared programme promoted by ORMA – Officine per la Ricerca e la Mediazione nell’Arte, a network bringing together independent organisations committed to contemporary art research in the Messina area. On the occasion of the 2026 AMACI Day of Contemporary Art ORMA presents a distributed programme of events taking place in different locations throughout the province of Messina, highlighting the diversity of experiences and projects that make up the network.
Works at the Mu.R.C
The works on display are structured along two distinct tracks. The first section ranges from graphics, illustration, watercolor, painting, and photography, offering a significant cross-section of predominantly Sicilian visual languages from the first decade of the 20th century onward, with a strong emphasis on research from the first two decades of the new millennium. This first section is divided into two distinct sectors: one represented by the Bonanno Fund; the other, the result of recent acquisitions and donations from artists who, since 2019, have participated in solo and group exhibitions promoted by the Estate under the curation of contemporary art critic and historian Mariateresa Zagone

The second section consists of six important site-specific sculptures, the result of the annual double Artist Residency program held at the Tenuta since 2024. Through this program, the Tenuta nominates its estate, in an enlightened and inspiring vision of cultural tourism that links the region, contemporary languages, hospitality, and food and wine, as an International Contemporary Sculpture Park.
