Giornata del Contemporaneo is the major event that AMACI has dedicated to contemporary art and its public since 2005. The event takes place with the support of the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity, within the Department for Cultural Activities of the Italian Ministry of Culture, and with the collaboration of the Directorate-General for the Promotion of the Italian Country System of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Each year, AMACI’s member museums, together with all the institutions and organisations that freely choose to take part in the initiative, open their doors free of charge to celebrate contemporary art through a wide-ranging programme involving not only major cities but also smaller towns, which have always been particularly active. In a single day, the initiative powerfully highlights the important role that contemporary art plays in the cultural, social and economic development of our country.

A moment of dialogue and reflection to rethink the contemporary museum.

AMACI Study Day is the annual event promoted by AMACI, with the support of the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture, dedicated to examining the profound changes that are redefining the role and identity of museums today.

A research platform, organised by AMACI – the Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums, dedicated to the transformations of contemporary art museums.

RAAM – Research Archive AMACI Museums is an ongoing digital archive conceived to showcase the extent and quality of the contemporary art heritage – from 1966 to the present day – held by the museums associated with AMACI.
