Light—a primordial, universal element—asserts itself in Sicily with a blinding, almost physical intensity, acting as a catalyst for visions, signs, and reflections. It is through this light that the artist has been able to decipher the landscape and transform it into imagery, skillfully balancing the values of black and white—so central to Japanese aesthetics—while introducing more vivid bursts of color that echo an unexpected, emotional presence. Light thus becomes both threshold and bridge: a natural force that culture sublimates into sign and vision. Works by Asako Hishiki, on display in the Auditorium and at Palazzo Calabrò.
