I Pezzi Grossi

The Zeroscena collective will run a workshop with students from the art school in Matera. Starting with a map of the Palazzo, the students will be asked to superimpose historical memory onto their own personal vision, imagining and drawing their idea of ‘home’ onto the map’s transparencies and transforming the graphic lines into the vectors of a new cartographic legend. The building’s monumental architecture will thus open itself up to this interaction, demonstrating how places are constantly reconfigured through the actions of communities.
