Sincresis presents Anima mundi by Vít Pavlík, an exhibition rooted in the profound relationship between painting, landscape, memory, and individual experience. The project is part of the cultural association’s residency programme and takes shape through the encounter between the artist and the Tuscan landscape, in a process in which geographical distance becomes an opportunity for discovery, exchange, and transformation.

Born in Volary, in the Šumava region of the Bohemian Forest, Vít Pavlík explores in his work an original relationship with a landscape that is not conveyed through straightforward representation, but through a gradual process of internalisation. The Šumava enters the artist’s body and mind, becoming memory, rhythm, and energy. Water, earth, and light, progressively freed from the recognisable features of the natural world, are transformed into colour, gesture, and movement.

Pavlík’s painting thus moves within an unstable space between the recognisable and the abstract, between form and its dissolution. His energetic and dynamic brushstrokes convey the incessant vibration of nature, understood not as an external setting, but as a vital force of which the human being is an integral part, internalised and expressed on the canvas. His works do not so much reproduce the image of a place as trace the experience of having lived it, subsequently reworked through the artist’s sensibility.

The residency and the project developed at Sincresis represent a further stage in this process: a new place is explored, observed, and absorbed, entering into dialogue with a deeply rooted memory. Painting becomes a transitional space in which experience and imagination, external reality and inner dimension can encounter one another and mutually transform.

From this perspective, Anima mundi becomes a key to understanding Pavlík’s artistic research. The ancient idea of a world soul, a principle capable of permeating and connecting all things, finds a tangible and constantly evolving form in his painting. The artist seeks a connection with the cosmos through which to nourish his individual dimension, allowing himself to be permeated by the energies of the universe.

Colour, gesture, and matter thus become pulsating manifestations of a single organism in transformation. Painting suggests a continuity between the individual and the world that surrounds them. In this open space, where nature becomes memory and memory is transformed into image, Pavlík’s works invite us to perceive reality as a network of shared relationships, movements, and energies. Anima mundi is therefore not a representation of an external world, but an attempt to make its vital force perceptible through a form of painting capable of transforming the experience of place into a universal dimension.
