THE MEMORY OF FIRE by Patrizio Bartoloni

A solo exhibition by ceramicist Patrizio Bartoloni, curated by Sofia Ancillotti. The exhibition explores the role of fire as a transformative force, driving a continuous metamorphosis through firing processes and material interventions on the clay.
The artist’s work draws upon the ceramic tradition of Montelupo Fiorentino before evolving into a more contemporary aesthetic, stripping forms down to their essence to create objects charged with emotional tension. Among the most compelling pieces are the “screaming vases”—vessels that serve as metaphors for the human body and life itself. This exhibition offers an opportunity to observe the symbolic significance of fire in ceramic practice and to appreciate the creative vision of a contemporary master of Italian ceramics.
