On the occasion of the 22nd Contemporary Art Day, the annual initiative promoted by AMACI – Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums, Museion invites the public to a full day of free admission, guided visits, encounters and participatory activities. The programme includes Art Speakings in Italian, German and English, as well as the performative project POIESIS PASSAGE: Performance Lab for Listening Bodies and Artworks. Developed as part of Museion Ink, the project takes Eduard Habicher’s exhibition Memory in Motion as its point of departure.
The 2026 edition of Contemporary Art Day is dedicated to the theme Geographies of Contemporaneity, exploring how we inhabit, move through and shape the spaces of the present. Museion responds to this theme by approaching the museum as a space for encounter, attentive listening and shared experimentation.
Conceived by Teatri Soffiati and realised in collaboration with Teatro Stabile di Bolzano, POIESIS PASSAGE invites participants to experience the museum through practices of observation, listening and movement. Under the artistic direction of Alessio Kogoj and with the participation of Pieter van Tuinen, the Performance Lab unfolds in three stages dedicated to Space, Time and Movement. Artworks, architecture and the presence of the participants become integral parts of the artistic process.
Over the course of the day, visual, sound and textual contributions will come together to form a shared poetic archive. At 5:30 pm, a public presentation will offer an insight into the process and the works, exchanges and relationships that have emerged between art, space and audience throughout the day.
From 2:00 to 6:00 pm, Art Speakings in Italian, German and English invite visitors to explore the current exhibitions in conversation with Museion’s mediation team, opening up different perspectives and approaches to the works on view.
Admission to Museion is free throughout the day.
