On the occasion of Contemporary Day 2026, Nicola Bertoglio presents My Urgencies, an online solo exhibition hosted inside The Cultural Cyber Hive, the virtual space designed and curated by the artist.
The exhibition brings together photographic and video works created from 2013 to the present, spanning different phases of his artistic research: from iPhoneography and digital photography to image manipulation and video, through his more recent explorations of artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual environments.
The works have been positioned and scaled site-specifically, in relation to the virtual architecture and the visitor. Their scale is conceived at avatar level, transforming the exhibition into an immersive, spatial experience.
The works and their exact locations are deliberately not indicated. Visitors are invited to move freely through the space, explore it and progressively discover the works, searching for them among its environments, passages and architectures. The visit thus becomes an integral part of the exhibition: not a predetermined route, but an experience of exploration, discovery and encounter with the artworks.
THE ARTIST
Nicola Bertoglio is a multidisciplinary artist based in Milan. Since 2013, his practice has focused primarily on photography made with mobile devices. Over the years, his work has expanded into video, digital image manipulation, artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual environments.
The body, identity, technology, memory and perception are recurring themes throughout his research.
THE CULTURAL CYBER HIVE
The Cultural Cyber Hive is a virtual architecture conceived as an exhibition space without traditional boundaries, where walls, rooms, passages, voids and volumes become part of the experience of the artworks.
The space is built on Hyperfy, a web-based platform that allows users to create and inhabit virtual worlds directly through a browser. Visitors can move through the space using an avatar, interact with the environment and share their presence with other visitors.
Here, architecture, artworks and visitors become part of the same environment.
HOW TO VISIT THE EXHIBITION

* Move using the arrow keys.
* Look around by moving the mouse.
* To run: SHIFT + arrow keys.
* To jump: SPACE.
* Use the launch pads to reach elevated areas of the space.
* You can communicate with other visitors using the SEND button.
* You can also use your own .VRM avatar by dragging it into the designated area and selecting EQUIP.
On smartphone / tablet
* Move using the virtual joystick on the left.
* Look around by swiping your finger across the screen.
* Use the jump button on the right.
* Launch pads allow you to reach elevated areas of the space.
* To communicate, use the chat icon.
