FABIO MAURI – The Scandal of the Spirit
From May 5 to 10, 2026, on the occasion of Contemporary Art Day 2026, the exhibition dedicated to Fabio Mauri, curated by Martina Sconci, will continue at the MU.SP.A.C. Museum in L’Aquila, with the support of the Municipality of L’Aquila, Capital of Culture 2026, to mark the centenary of the birth of Fabio Mauri (Rome, 1926 – 2009), and in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts of L’Aquila, where he taught Aesthetics from October 18, 1979 to October 31, 1996.
An internationally renowned total artist, Fabio Mauri maintained a constant relationship with the city of L’Aquila, not only through the Academy, but also through the cultural association Centro Multimediale “Quarto di Santa Giusta” and later the MU.SP.A.C. Museum, presenting exhibitions, lectures, actions, and performances from the late 1970s until 2007.
