BIO ICONS. The visual genesis of an artist
Giuliano Ravazzini’s first major retrospective at Cà Toschi (Baiso)
From 5 to 27 September 2026, the birthplace of the art historian Giovan Battista Toschi will host BIO ICONS. The Visual Genesis of an Artist, the most comprehensive retrospective exhibition dedicated to Giuliano Ravazzini (Sassuolo, 1960), a leading figure on the contemporary art scene.
Curated by Corrado Barozzi and Rossana Merli, and supported by the Municipality of Baiso and the scientific committee of the Tavola di Bisanzio, the exhibition systematically reconstructs, for the first time, the entire scope of the Emilian artist’s output, from his early years in the 1970s to his most recent site-specific actions.
A journey through painting, photography, installation, digital art and performance, spanning six decades of exploration into the relationship between humanity, image and nature.
The exhibition concludes with a section dedicated to his most recent works: *Migrazioni di Microazioni*, *Cybersign*, *Wi-rus* and *Xenos* – examples of art that is not an object to be contemplated, but an act to be performed.
