On Saturday, October 10 at 11:00 AM, Casa Studio Galleria CVM VENIO will host the official presentation of the theoretical text “Internationalist Manifesto of the Artwork by Filippo Biagioli: Analphabetic Art and European Tribal and Ritual Art” (Manifesto Internazionalista dell’Opera di Filippo Biagioli: analphabetic art e Arte Tribale e Rituale Europea). The event, formatted as a conference and open debate featuring the artist and curator Dr. Sofia Ancillotti, is included in the official program of the 22nd Contemporary Art Day (Giornata del Contemporaneo), promoted by AMACI (Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums).
At the heart of the discussion is the theoretical framework developed by Biagioli to free art from conceptual constraints and restore it to its original dimension: a sacred, community-centered, and universally accessible experience conveyed through archaic symbols and ritual.
During the presentation, Dr. Sofia Ancillotti and Filippo Biagioli will explore the two core pillars of this movement:
Analphabetic Art: An instinctive, primordial visual code based on signs, pictograms, and formal essentiality, capable of communicating directly with the viewer’s subconscious beyond written alphabets and cultural barriers.
European Tribal and Ritual Art: The rediscovery of folklore and the ethno-anthropological roots of the European continent. Through the creation of fetishes, masks, and sculptures made from natural materials, Biagioli reinterprets the role of the artist-shaman, crafted as an artisan of “objects of power” tied to the land and collective memory.
The event offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with the artist and curator on the prospects of an art form that reclaims its true communicative power through ritual dimension.
