On Saturday, October 10, 2026, the Giornata del Contemporaneo returns, the annual event promoted by AMACI – the Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums, with the support of the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity, within the Department for Cultural Activities of the Ministry of Culture, and in collaboration with the Directorate-General for Growth and Export Promotion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
As every year, AMACI member museums, along with all the organizations and institutions that have chosen to take part, open their doors free of charge to celebrate contemporary art through a wide-ranging program. It involves not only large cities but also smaller towns, which have always been especially active. Museums, foundations, galleries, independent spaces, cultural associations, academies, private collections, and other players in the field offer exhibitions, talks, studio visits, workshops, guided tours, performances, and special initiatives, both in person and online, aimed at an increasingly broad and diverse audience.
