“Twelve days war” stems from the artist’s personal experience during the June 2025 conflict between Iran and Israel, when the complete shutdown of Internet access made it impossible to communicate with her family in Tehran. The video gathers fragments from those days — messages, phone calls, silences, and images recorded by civilians — and reflects on the physical and psychological distance imposed by war on those who experience it from afar.
At the center of the work is a nighttime phone call with her mother during the bombings: a moment in which, through the phone, the distance between Milan and Tehran briefly seems to disappear.
The video is not a chronicle of the conflict, but a trace of what war produces in those who live it from a distance: suspended time, fear, guilt, and the almost physical need for connection. It attempts to record the distance between one place and another, between those who can leave and those who remain, between those who watch and those who are inside the war — a geographical distance that was never a real distance.
On October 10 at 6:45 PM, the artist will meet and converse with the audience.
