The complexity of the present constantly demands new interpretive frameworks, yet we continue to decipher reality through ideological cages, automatic responses, and thought structures inherited from the 20th century. Trapped between the Theses and Antitheses that defined the past century and the pervasive impact of new digital technologies, our way of perceiving the world often remains entangled in reflexive categories.
Therapeutic Sabotage was conceived as an experiment in resetting and disorientation: a closed-door performative action aimed at deactivating the “autopilot” of both intellect and body.
During the afternoon, a small group of invited participants will gather behind closed doors at Studio Campo Boario to undertake a guided experiential journey. Through the physical circuit-break of Hasya Yoga (Laughter Yoga), the celebration of error (via the collective performance of Bach’s music without any formal expertise), the sensory presence of a shared silent meal, and a discussion rhythmically paced by a wine ritual (inspired by the artistic research of Cesare Pietroiusti), participants will act directly upon 5 large painted canvases. Across these surfaces—the visual substance of 20th-century dualisms—they will etch, erase, and overwrite the marks of a conceptual breakthrough.
Due to its intimate, vulnerable, and highly intense experiential nature, this workshop phase will remain strictly behind closed doors and will not be accessible to the general public.
PUBLIC OPENING (8:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
From 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Studio Campo Boario will open its doors to present the traces and works born from this deconstruction process to the broader public.
Visitors will be invited into the space to experience the final installation: the canvases transformed and layered throughout the afternoon, accompanied by audio/video recordings and artifacts that emerged from the workshop. It offers a unique opportunity to explore the remnants of a newly bare line of thought and to share in the outcomes of an existential and conceptual geography in constant transformation.
