TEMPO DI SEMINA by artist Teresa Satta is the eighth project to be hosted in the ex-Edicola (“former newsstand”) exhibition space managed by the Giallo Menta APS association. This site-specific installation will open on October 10—coinciding with the Twenty-Second Giornata del Contemporaneo promoted by AMACI—and will remain on view until November 14, 2026.
The project stems from a premise and a question.
The premise is that the world is “magical”—meaning it follows rules that exist within the realm of the irrational, the imaginative, the fantastic, and the extraordinary. In this space inhabited by magical rituals and spells, the artist asks herself—and us—how we safeguard magic.
The work aims to create an archive of the phrases, gestures, or actions that guide us toward magic in our daily lives, fueling and supporting it.
These are micro-rituals and small devices that each of us employs to simplify life, make it more fun, open up new paths, defuse fear, or invite joy. They are little formulas and spells deeply intertwined with daily domestic routines—often repeated absent-mindedly or entirely automatically.
Sometimes, they follow a thread of oral tradition passed down by others, taking the form of superstitions, proverbial sayings, warding-off rituals, and the like. At other times, they grow spontaneously from the soil of our own imagination: personal rituals, sentimental habits, or special objects to which we attribute a certain power to act.

The ex-Edicola is a small architectural space that has been abandoned and disused for over 40 years—ever since it lost its original function as a newsstand. Since 2023, the Giallo Menta APS association has been developing cultural projects aimed at transforming this space and restoring it as an active element of the community; this rebirth is being achieved through urban regeneration initiatives involving contemporary art interventions.
The ex-Edicola exhibition space is designated as a Luogo del Contemporaneo by the Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea of the Ministero della Cultura.
