ORGANICA, the environmental art museum located in the Limbara Park, was established in 2020 to promote and showcase Sardinia’s natural and landscape heritage. Through contemporary visual languages, ORGANICA explores the territory across its physical, anthropological, environmental, and ethical dimensions. To mark the 22nd Contemporary Art Day, the public is invited to visit the museum’s two current exhibitions free of charge.
In the contemporary art section, Caterina Lai presents Tracce di terra e di vento (Traces of Earth and Wind), a solo exhibition curated by Maria Dolores Picciau.
Set in the heart of the Limbara Park, the works of this artist from Dorgali weave together memory, material, and landscape. The installation centers on the *Licuccos*—biconical forms that evoke the reassuring echo of traditional silver buttons and the ancient sweetness of festive breads and pastries. They lie upon the ground like a striking mineral beach and hang suspended among the branches, balanced between the weight of the earth and the lightness of the sky. Amidst the tree bark and the forest’s breath, Lai’s clay creations transcend their status as mere objects to become living organisms—an invitation to rediscover, through art, the sacred and unbreakable bond connecting humanity, memory, and the landscape’s secret soul.
The section of the Museum dedicated to photography and documentary research features Atlante. VideoRitratti di Gallura (Atlas: Video Portraits of Gallura), showcasing interviews conducted by L’Ambulante—a research lab founded by documentary filmmakers Gaetano Crivaro and Margherita Pisano—and curated by Lidia Decandia. Nine short films portray a Gallura in transition through the stories of new residents, entrepreneurs, shepherds, and livestock farmers—experiences, voices, images, and sounds that reveal a territory that is anything but static, where new ways of living and producing intertwine with traditional *stazzi* (rural homesteads), the land, and environmental resources.
