Specular Intersectionism brings words and music together: a poetic text written according to a few simple rules is mirrored into a musical composition and/or in visual elements. Entering the workshop will allow visitors to listen, see, touch and work with a variety of materials which, in the end, will enable them to compose a short, unique and personal poetic text, which can then be transformed into music and/or visual elements. All of this can be experienced without any prior or advanced knowledge of the different fields involved.

In 2024, the prestigious London-based label Musica Presente (directed by the musicologist Renzo Cresti and produced by the composer Louis Siciliano) released the album “Intersezioni”, containing 23 tracks dating from 2015, 2019 and 2022–24.

In addition, the independent Swiss label Tetraktys Music, in co-production with the Swiss Italian Radio, released the triple album Specular Intersections, featuring an ensemble of 25 musicians conducted by the composer Max Pizio.

On the website of the Società Italiana di Musica Contemporanea (SIMC), it is possible to watch the video of “Infinito: mille modi intersezionisti per dire pace” (Infinity: A Thousand Intersectionist Ways of Saying Peace), a composition by Bernasconi created for the Scrivere per la pace (Writing for Peace) initiative.

On the 2nd and 3rd September, in Lucca and Pescia respectively, his “”(Twelve) will receive its world premiere. This is an Intersectionist composition written to commemorate the figure and thought of Saint Francis.

Also on the SIMC website, in the coming months, the video “Soledad. Apologhetto intersezionista” (Soledad. A Little Intersectionist Fable) will be available, created as part of the “Scrivere per la solitudine” (Writing for Solitude) initiative.

For several months, the artist has been working in a studio at Opera Village in Comerio (VA), in collaboration with fellow musicians and experimental artists Vito Maniscalco and Max Pizio, both members of SIMC, focusing in particular on the visual and educational implications of Specular Intersectionism.
