The exhibition Giuseppe Buffoli – For a Space (Per uno Spazio) is part of the cultural program for the seventh edition of the Nature and Art Festival (Rassegna della Natura e dell’Arte). With a selection of works composed of engravings and sculptures—some made from MDF and others using the ancient Etruscan technique of bucchero—the artist presents a reflection inspired by Albrecht Dürer’s famous engraving Melencolia I, which features a geometric form recalled by Buffoli in the exhibited works. Resembling polyhedral meteorites driven by a propulsive energy that has carried them directly into our view, the sculptures—seemingly suspended in a delicate balance and resting on a single edge—represent a refined exploration of invisible forces and the energy of moving bodies, as well as their lightness and precariousness, almost as if they were perpetually on the verge of succumbing to their weight and the force of gravity.
