On the occasion of the 22nd Giornata del Contemporaneo, Sergio Maltagliati presents Geografie algoritmiche / Algorithmic Geographies, a digital project exploring his artistic research across sign, sound, image, networks and generative processes.
The project brings together works, scores, digital publications and interactive environments in which the computer is not simply a tool for reproduction, but an active part of the creative process. From graphic sign to score, from score to sound, and from algorithm to network, the visitor moves through an immaterial and ever-changing geography.
The project includes key areas of the artist’s research, including Dal segno all’algoritmo, Nihil memoria senza centro and Agenda Perenne. The network becomes an exhibition space, a relational environment and a material of the artwork itself, creating a digital cartography in constant transformation.
Geografie algoritmiche / Algorithmic Geographies engages with the theme of Giornata del Contemporaneo 2026 by interpreting geography not only as a physical place, but as a system of relationships, memories, connections and transformations.
The project is freely accessible online.
