Starting from the Cave of Venuses and the story of the two skeletons found inside, known as the “In Love”, Rä di Martino explores the boundary between memory, imagination and storytelling. The artist then intervened in the archive of Rocco Coronese’s Manifesto Museum, reinterpreting existing film posters and creating new ones for films that never existed. The result is an impossible filmography, suspended between document and invention, in which images of the past and imaginary narratives overlap, giving shape to stories that could have been told. Housed in the niche of posters on the facade of the Cineteatro Moderno, the work transforms a space traditionally intended to announce films into an autonomous viewing device. Through cinema, the artist investigates the ability of images to generate shared memories, transforming real traces and imagined stories into new possibilities for storytelling.
