Dino Villani Art Gallery

The School of Arts and Crafts Foundation is organizing the Art in Arts and Crafts Award, now in its 20th and 6th edition.
During the event, the Dino Villani Art Gallery will be inaugurated.
It is no easy task to keep alive the memory of someone who has been gone for over 35 years. Many initiatives have been undertaken over the years to commemorate Dino Villani, but the most successful was the one with the School of Arts and Crafts in Suzzara, where since 1993 there have been successive donations of Villani’s works, and the Foundation has shown admirable care and dedication to these works. These activities, combined, have helped preserve his memory and his connection to the local area. Today marks the fourth donation, consisting of hundreds of the artist’s works, including engravings, woodcuts, and drawings, made by the fourth generation of the Villani-Scarpellini family. We celebrate the birth of the Dino Villani Art Gallery, a place not only to remember Villani but also to pass on a life lesson—the enormous power and potential of curiosity—to the ever-evolving generations who frequent these places. The Dino Villani Art Gallery is inaugurated, and the works will be visible and available to the public during the Scuola’s opening hours. Perhaps the secret of such a long and vibrant experience lies precisely in the continuous renewal to which the Scuola containing the Art Gallery is naturally subject.
