Another Draw on the Wall. Guided tours for the 22nd Giornata del Contemporaneo
On Saturday 10 October, as part of the 22nd Giornata del Contemporaneo promoted by AMACI, the Museo ARCOS in Benevento offers two guided tours of Another Draw on the Wall, at 11.00 am and 5.30 pm, led by Francesco Creta.
The exhibition brings together more than forty artists across the whole museum and treats drawing as an autonomous and subversive category in current art, freed from its role as a preparatory stage for the finished work. The title quotes Another Brick in the Wall for the critical charge of the song, which finds in drawing a possible equivalent in the field of art: here drawing prepares nothing, it acts on its own account, against the economy of finish that still governs the hierarchy of media.
The tours follow the show as it unfolds and dwell on two points. The first is the confrontation between the specificity of a territory and practices that depart from it geographically but not in the problems they address. The second is the meeting of three distinct paths, those of Mondoromulo arte contemporanea, Dario Molinaro and ARCOS, which places emerging, mid-career and established artists on the same level.
