Inhabiting the Earth — The Right to Dream
Activation in the Landscape, 2026
Human dominion over the earth takes shape within a square space: a 3 × 3 metre cloth conceived as a model of human inhabitation. A passage from Genesis concerning the relationship between human beings and creation is transcribed along its perimeter. Laid on the grass, the cloth delineates a portion of the world. The writing introduces a human measure into the living environment, making visible the boundary between what is enclosed and what remains outside.
The work opens up a moment of pause through The Right to Dream, a project that collects testimonies related to the experience of places and the imagination. Those who encounter the device are invited to stop and leave a thought, a memory, a dream or an inner image relating to the elements of nature.
The testimonies are collected and preserved in the project’s archive, becoming part of a shared memory. Each individual contribution thus becomes an opportunity to question how we inhabit the world and build relationships with what surrounds us.
The activation invites reflection on humanity’s responsibility towards the earth and on the possibility of imagining forms of coexistence with other living beings.
