Contemporary art today is trapped in a structural failure, born of the hypocritical illusion that it must serve a purpose in order to justify its own existence. When art claims to have a social function, it often proves superfluous, since there are infinitely more effective means of exerting an impact on society.
From this scenario emerges what we regard as a radical certainty: the only form of art that is authentically non-useless is that which renounces being useful to society as a collectivity, in order to address the individual within society.
The exhibition LandEscape emerges from this reversal, transforming the superficiality of painting into a spatial passage through which the landscape is stripped of everyday description and becomes a pure suspension of Being.
