On the occasion of the 22nd Contemporary Art Day, Stefano Paulon opens his art, architecture and design studio/archive, transforming it into a place where design, artistic research and territory come together.
BEYOND THE STUDIO stems from the idea of revealing not only what is produced, but also what precedes and accompanies the work: thought, method, measure, matter, drawing, experimentation, tools and archives. Art, architecture, design, studies and writing coexist within the same space as different aspects of a research practice open to relationships across disciplines.
For the Giornata del Contemporaneo, the studio symbolically extends its boundaries into the surrounding territory, establishing a connection with Spazio Burgo, located within the former Burgo paper mill, where NEL LUOGO DI ORIGINE / IN THE PLACE OF ORIGIN is currently on view. The exhibition presents works by master artist Giuliano Collina from the Milly Brunelli Pozzi Collection in dialogue with works by contemporary artists.
Two places with distinct identities thus become part of a single itinerary: the studio as a space for design, thought and process; Spazio Burgo as a place of memory, artwork and its return to the territory.
A journey between design and art, process and artwork, present and memory.
From design to art. From the studio to the territory.
