GIOSUE’ MARONGIU – WORLD PREMIERE: ” MINDART ”
“MENTAL-ART” OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM by GIOSUE’ MARONGIU
In June 2002, Giosue’ Marongiu conceived his novel “L’Ultima Conoscenza” (The Ultimate Knowledge), published in May 2016 by Aletti Editore, ISBN: 978-88-591-3506-7.
His mind conceived a futuristic sci-fi conjecture, described through his main character “Jason”.
This is the incipit:
“In a cold December night in 2020, J.W., suffering from a severe migraine, attached to his forehead two suction cups connected to an electro-stimulator, commonly used for relaxation, in order to cure, or at least alleviate, his painful migraines. While working on his PC, he mistakenly inserted the USB plug of the electro-stimulator into one of the ports where he usually connected his 1,000 Peta-byte removable hard drives. At that moment, a large mass of brain waves taken from his cranial cortex was channeled into his computer’s operating system. To his great amazement, the computer began to process the data, and after a few minutes he saw appear on the monitor the images of what he had seen just before: the monitor, the keyboard and the desk at which he was sitting. It didn’t take him long to realize that his operating system had created a new program capable of transforming his brain waves into images…”
25 years later, he has turned this fantasy into a tangible reality, made of matter: his thoughts taking concrete form as Works of Art – frames and animated videos generated by his mind, without using a mouse.
This new technology now available on the market – “EMOTIV EPOC X 14 Channel EEG” – has projected him into the future of Art; directly from his thought to this 13th step of his avant-garde artistic research: “MINDART”.

1. d’arteMINDART is the first artistic movement where the work is generated directly from thought. No mouse, no brush, no hands. From the cortex to the artwork.
2. For centuries, Art has been the translation of an idea through the body. MINDART eliminates the body as an intermediary. The brainwave is the brush.
3. We do not represent thoughts. We present thoughts as matter. Frames and animated videos that are the direct, tangible trace of a mental state, captured by the EMOTIV EPOC X 14 Channel EEG technology.
4. MINDART was imagined in 2002 in the novel “L’Ultima Conoscenza” and realized in 2026. Science fiction has become artistic technique.
5. This is the 13th step of my research. The end of conceptual art and the beginning of cerebral art. Art no longer imitates life, Art IS the thought of life.
