POLYCENTRIC CARTOGRAPHY
On the occasion of the 22nd edition of “Giornata del Contemporaneo”, Art Marginem Concept Room responds to the call of the _“Geography of the Contemporary”_ not as a map of rigid boundaries, but as a living network of artistic trajectories. This exhibition brings together two works by each of our artists: a deliberately eclectic mosaic that rejects uniformity and celebrates diversity as a fundamental value.
When we speak of geography in contemporary art, we are not referring only to spatial coordinates or physical territories. The true geography of contemporary art is an inner landscape—a mapping of different urgencies, visions, and languages.
In this space, the coexistence of diverse techniques and the plurality of themes explored do not represent fragmentation, but rather the true nature of our time. Each artist draws their own boundaries, explores their own emotional and conceptual latitude, and offers visitors a unique perspective on the present.
Art Marginem thus becomes a meeting point for these independent routes. Showing two works by each artist allows us to glimpse a journey, a personal direction of research that intersects with those of others. We invite you to explore this itinerary without searching for a single connecting thread, but instead allowing yourselves to be guided by this polycentric cartography.
It is through the contrast and dialogue between these different artistic voices that our geography is revealed: an open, ever-changing territory where the margin becomes the centre of a new visual exploration.
