By popular demand, the scale model of FILM AMBIENTE—a work by visual artist and experimental filmmaker Marinella Pirelli, a key figure in Italian artistic exploration during the second half of the 20th century—returns to public view for Giornata del Contemporaneo.
Displayed in the unique and evocative setting of the 15th-century “Sala del Cristo”—distinguished by its frescoes—the FILM AMBIENTE model conveys the immersive and experimental nature of Pirelli’s work.
The installation comprises two parts: Nuovo Paradiso (8-minute duration), a tribute to Gino Marotta’s methacrylate sculptures, and Diapositive Dipinte (15-minute duration); both were created in 1968. The projections are accompanied by experimental music composed by Pietro Pirelli—the artist’s son and an acclaimed musician and visual artist.
The work will be displayed as part of the Museo Arte Plastica exhibition route and will be open to visitors from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
