Premio Rua Viva

The Piccola Galleria Resistente is proud to host the second edition of the Rua Viva Prize and, on Saturday, October 10—marking the twenty-second AMACI Day—to screen the film Riccardo Dalisi. La poesia delle materie scartate (Riccardo Dalisi: The Poetry of Discarded Materials) by Manuel Canelles. The RuaViva Prize stems from the history of Rua Catalana in Naples’ historic center and the artistic and personal connections this place has fostered. Central to this story is “Il Laboratorio,” an art print workshop founded in 1978 by Vittorio Avella, Antonio Sgambati, and Luigi Napolitano; in 2000, it opened a location on Vico Freddo in the Rua Catalana district, supporting—over the course of a decade—the urban renewal project championed by Riccardo Dalisi and backed by local artisan workshops. Il Laboratorio hosted exhibitions, presentations, and gatherings with artists and poets, becoming a vibrant hub deeply rooted in the neighborhood. That era also saw the creation of DUEL, a work by Felix Policastro produced on Vico Freddo in 2002, which the RuaViva Prize has adopted as its symbol. The 2026 edition, titled *Zone di contatto* (Contact Zones), presents works at the Piccola Galleria Resistente by fourteen artists selected by a jury comprising Vittorio Avella, Antonio Sgambati, Felix Policastro, Christian Leperino, Mara Biancamano, and Maria Giovanna Capone. The program continues on October 10 with the screening of Manuel Canelles’ film Riccardo Dalisi. La poesia delle materie scartate. Additionally, the winning artist is awarded a residency at Il Laboratorio, with the resulting works to be exhibited at the Piccola Galleria Resistente in December.
