On the occasion of the 22nd edition of the Giornata del Contemporaneo, Museo MA*GA presents Dans(e) l’Atelier by Martina Rota, a performance developed as part of the 40th edition of the MILANoLTRE festival.
Dans(e) l’Atelier draws on the codes of cheerleading, a discipline in which dance, acrobatics and teamwork coexist through a delicate balance of technique and mutual trust. Human pyramids, throws and aerial figures thus become the material for a choreographic exploration that transforms athletic gestures into a new rhythmic and performative experience.
Born in 1995, Martina Rota is an artist working across visual and performance practices. She graduated from the Visual Arts Department of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and trained in dance in Italy and across Europe, collaborating with various choreographers. Her highly interdisciplinary artistic research explores the urgencies, desires and traumas of the body, both within collective and personal dimensions.
In 2026, she is among the artists featured in the 28th edition of the Premio Gallarate ARTE VIVA. Processi performativi e partecipativi come pratica in mostra, on view at Museo MA*GA until 11 October.
