From October 10 to 25, PAC presents “RI-SCATTI. Prima che sia notte” an exhibition that, through snapshots taken by migrant and refugee women welcomed and supported by the Milano Welcome Center, tells the stories of their individual journeys, connections, motherhood, rights, and the search for a new future. The exhibition was conceived and organized by PAC and RISCATTI ODV—an association that has been carrying out social empowerment projects through photography since 2014—and is sponsored by Comune di Milano with the support of Tod’s and curated by Diego Sileo.
For the project participants, the city is a space where they can find themselves, gain self-awareness, and tell their stories. The exhibition offers an opportunity to understand the complexity and significance of an experience that risks remaining invisible.
The title is taken from the novel of the same name by the Cuban poet and writer Reinaldo Arenas (1992): a powerful and poignant work on migration that serves as a universal metaphor for the quest for freedom.
