Selma Selman – 1000 Tears

“1000 Tears” is the first solo exhibition in an Italian institution by the artist Selma Selman (Bihać, 1991), one of the most significant voices on the international art scene.
Selman weaves together autobiographical elements and social reflection to address themes of belonging, representation, marginalization, discrimination, and war, exploring the possibility of imagining alternative forms of existence.
The project features graphic works that translate stories and fragments of life into images suspended between reality and fiction, works on metal, a new iteration of the “Letters to Omer” project, and an excerpt from the film “Crossing the Blue Bridge”, in which the artist recalls an episode from her childhood.
