The Italian Cultural Institute of Prague (Czech Republic) presents L’ombra del mattino (Morning Shadow) by Fabrizio Corneli, an original project dedicated to the relationship between light, shadow and perception, created specifically to engage with the exhibition spaces of the Institute.
Fabrizio Corneli transforms light and shadow into artistic matter. His installations invite visitors to observe space with new eyes, as unexpected images emerge from light and perception becomes an integral part of the artwork. Through a subtle balance between rigour and poetry, the artist reveals new possibilities of seeing, taking the audience beyond the boundary between the visible and the invisible.
Born in Florence in 1958, Fabrizio Corneli studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze, while also pursuing studies in semiology at the University of Bologna. From the very beginning of his career, he has focused his research on the relationship between light and shadow, elements that have become the core of his artistic practice. His installations have been presented in museums, galleries and cultural institutions around the world, while numerous permanent works are now located in public spaces and international private collections.
The exhibition, which is also part of the programme of the international design festival Designblok, will be open to the public from 8 October 2026 until January 2027 at the Baroque Chapel and other exhibition spaces of the Italian Cultural Institute of Prague.
