The ‘Basilio Cascella’ Prize returns; established in 1955, it is one of Italy’s most prestigious and long-standing awards for art, photography, and painting. Its mission is to promote contemporary art and foster encounters, exchange, and sharing among artists, thereby creating a creative hub and a key reference point for the national art network. The theme for the 70th edition (2026) is ‘Hope’.
Quality, artistic research, innovation, and a contemporary approach were the fundamental selection criteria. Eight painters and eight photographers were selected to exhibit their work at the Spazio ATLANTIDE in Ortona (Chieti).
Once again, the event will be part of the 22nd Contemporary Art Day promoted by AMACI, continuing a partnership that has characterized the Prize in recent editions. The awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 7th.
Each participant was asked to analyze this edition’s theme and express it through painting or photography, presenting their personal interpretation to the public.
