On the occasion of the Twenty-Second Contemporary Art Day promoted by AMACI (Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums), the collective exhibition ABSTRACTA will open on Saturday, October 10 at 6:00 PM at the COWOJ spaces in Jesi.The exhibition, born from a synergistic collaboration with the STANZA251 gallery in Florence, entrusts six artists of national and international prominence with the task of connecting us with the inner sound. This expression was used at the origins of Abstractionism by Wassily Kandinsky to suggest the power of a painting released from the bond of the object—the inner fervor of an art that is, indeed, ABS-TRACTA.Through the concreteness of their works, Enrico Bertelli, Stefano Loria, Marta Mancini, Renzo Marasca, Rob Mazurek, and Tomoko Sugahara will give substance to this volatile adjective and its multiple interpretations; to paraphrase Leo Tolstoy, every abstract artist is abstract in their own way. Yet, running through their works, one can observe a common underground current that fuels the idea of a magmatic and magnetic art. It is an art transfigured by a high emotional temperature—free, faithful to its own demon, to bare inner resonance, and striving toward a mystical essentiality.It is an art of surrender, where the lapses, the discarded fragments, and the smudges within the material and the gesture that transforms it become heavy with the fragile meaning of existence.In an era where the faucet of images is always wide open, standing before these works capable of radiance is a ritual to ward off the arrogance of visual banality, to regenerate and re-educate our gaze, and to transform seeing into vision.
