CONDOTTO48 is opening Biglietti agli amici, a solo exhibition by Dario Nanì, curated by Valeria De Siero, under the patronage of Rome’s 6th Municipality and the ETS Italia:Patria della Bellezza Foundation, and with the support of Terracromata.
The exhibition brings together a selection of paintings created by the Sicilian artist between 2022 and 2026, presented for the first time at the Roman art-run space. The exhibition programme is complemented by a special contribution from Salvo Barone, Nanì’s mentor and a key figure in that generation of figurative painters who trained in Sicily in the 1950s.
The exhibition’s title is loosely inspired by Pier Vittorio Tondelli’s *Biglietti agli amici* (Letters to Friends), a collection of short prose pieces addressed to recipients identified by initials and references to cities; the key to interpreting them remains, in part, private. An intimate yet enigmatic device that finds a particular resonance in Nanì’s paintings.
