Giornata del Contemporaneo is the major annual event promoted by AMACI, involving museums, foundations, public and private institutions, galleries, studios and artists’ spaces, to showcase, in a single day, the vitality of contemporary art in Italy and abroad.

In recognition of its established standing within the national cultural system, this year too the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, has awarded the event the Medal of the President of the Republic.

This year, Giornata del Contemporaneo has once again been supported by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity, within the Department for Cultural Activities of the Ministry of Culture, and has benefited from the collaboration of the Directorate-General for the Growth and Promotion of Exports of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, a media partnership with Rai Cultura, Rai Italia and Rai Radio 3, and the patronage of the European Commission Representation in Italy, the Chamber of Deputies, the Conference of the Regions and Autonomous Provinces, ANCI (National Association of Italian Municipalities) and ICOM Italia.
